Prompt
A world designed for the end-of-semester ETC festival. It can use any of several platforms, but should be designed to take place in a room or space in the ETC building. You will be presenting your worlds as usual, but now (and for any world you submit to the jury), you must “pitch” how your world will work with the festival format.
Gameplay
This is a video showing a classmate playing the game with Vive Trackers.
Character Design & Animation
I created the 2D raccoon characters, their animation and the monster’s animation.
Reflection
As a collaborative multiplayer game, the game mechanics does not encourage collaboration. Reflecting on how to design better collaborative multiplayer game mechanics, I summarized a few potential options.
1. Have more tasks than players, so the players must communicate to see who is able to work on the extra task at that moment.
2. Create different mechanics that support each other. For example, one player collect trash, another player shoots out the trash to hit the monster.
3. Create dependency. The players cannot accomplish this task by themselves. For example, longer distances than the players could reach individually.
